Our Focus

Peace through justice at home at abroad since 1967.

Since our founding as a chapter of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Clergy and Laity Concerned about Vietnam in 1967, the Western New York Peace Center, Inc. has fought the triple evils of racism, poverty, and militarism in all their forms.

Mission

The Western New York Peace Center, Inc. (WNYPC) is committed to peace through justice both locally and globally by promoting peace education, issue awareness, and policy advocacy. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our community through grassroots collaborative efforts; cultivating a movement dedicated to both preventing violence against individuals and the environment, while facilitating regenerative healing from years of trauma and oppression. We prioritize peaceful conflict resolution within communities with a particular emphasis on empowering youth, as well as life-long learning.

Vision

The Western New York Peace Center, Inc. (WNYPC) promotes peace by enhancing the well-being of our community, both locally and globally, through nonviolence towards individuals and the environment. This is achieved by promoting peaceful conflict resolution in communities while empowering youth and all people to become civically minded and educated community advocates.
