Nekanesakt Meeting

At Burning Books, 420 Connecticut St, Buffalo. Indigenous People and allies working to support Native peoples, land struggles, protecting the earth and sovereignty in the most effective way. Discuss/work on mission statement, goals, responsibilities, a non-profit and a bank account. All are welcome.

The group continues to support Native peoples, land struggles, working to protect the earth and sovereignty in the most effective way. This upcoming meeting will include talk about setting up a mission statement, goals, responsibilities, a non-profit and a bank account. The following was our mission statement- Nekanęhsakt: Friends of Ękwehęwę is a collection of Western New Yorkers committed to supporting the efforts of Ękwehęwę living both on and off territory as well as nearby Ękwehęwę nations. We will collaborate with Native nations, communities and individuals to promote justice, reconciliation and healing. We believe that we, and the wider community, can learn from Ękwehęwę nations about living more peacefully with one another and more harmoniously with the Earth.
