Defeat these upcoming Gun Bills

Republicans in Congress are planning to vote as soon as this week on two bills that would make Americans even more vulnerable to gun violence:

  • The SHARE Act (H.R. 3668), which would repeal restrictions on gun silencers and make it harder to detect the source of gunfire during mass shootings.
  • The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 38), which would undermine state efforts to protect residents from gun violence by forcing states to recognize concealed carry permits issued by any other state, no matter how lax the state’s permitting standards are.

Remember too that there’s a wonderful gathering Weds, Oct 4: St. Joseph SJC Gun Violence Panel Discussion at 7-9pm.  St. Joseph University SJC Gun Violence Awareness Subcommittee panel discussion (in the Community Room): Guest panelists Tiffany Lankes and Lou Michel, Buffalo News reporters who wrote of the lingering effects of gun violence on Buffalo’s children. Tiffany is the education reporter, and Lou the crime reporter. The article is here http://IN BUFFALO’S CHILDREN, WOUNDS NO ONE SEES
