MEDEA BENJAMIN! This Monday (2/4), 1-3pm, on Talking Peace

716-332-3904      2/1/19

Friends,

We will have Special Guest Medea Benjamin of Code Pink – on Talking Peace with the WNY Peace Center!! Radio Show on 91.3FM, WBNY. Monday, 2/4, 1-3pm. She will be speaking with us about Venezuela, Iran, Yemen (including National Day of Action to Stop US in War on Yemen). This is a call-in show! To hear streaming on line, please go to wbny.buffalostate.edu.

Also, Join us for a National Day of Action to Stop U.S. in the War in Yemen! Please make a plan to call/write your Rep and two Senators to demand they support the Yemen War Powers Resolution. What you can do now:

  1. Make a note to call your members of Congress on Mon., Feb. 4. Capitol Switchboard: 1-202-224-3121. Tell your members of Congress, “Please co-sponsor the Yemen War Powers Resolution if you have not already.”
  2. Share this info with your contacts and encourage them to get involved prior to the day of action.

With US military support, the Saudi/UAE-led Coalition has blockaded the ports of Yemen and cut off the flow of food, fuel, medicine, and clean water. This has pushed 16 million people to the brink of famine and caused 1.2 million cases of cholera, making the worst current humanitarian crisis on the planet. Congress has not authorized this war and it’s time they reassert their Article 1 War Powers to end this suffering. If we get this right, we can help end the war!

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda J. Kuechler announces her sudden and unexpected passing on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the age of 69 years. Linda was a former board member and treasurer for the WNY Peace Center, and she helped us with our books for many years. She was a tremendously kind, dedicated, and hard-working woman, and she will be sorely missed! A visitation will be held in the parlor of Rosary Hall at Daemen College, 4380 Main Street, Amherst, NY. Linda’s family will be present to welcome friends, faculty, students and staff who wish to pay their respects and reflect on the memories of an incredible woman.

Many thanks, peace, solidarity, and yes – Love
