Justice for Migrant Families invites you to one or all of the following gatherings. Come meet great people and build community as we learn and resist together (posted by LASC).

Saturday, August 18: March in the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day Parade with PUSH (look for the Orange and Black); we will bring out the butterflies to carry. 12:00, City Hall/ Niagara Square; step off 1:00

Monday, August 20: Two-part Training on court support and visitation teams at the Batavia federal detention center. Time/Location: Trinity Church (371 Delaware) from 5:30 – 7:30. 5:30-6 Court Support Training 6:15-7:30 Visitation Teams at Batavia: We will cover recent federal policies, confidentiality, detention center procedures, basic scenarios that might occur when you visit and resources. The need for visitors at the detention center is very high right now. We want to build a network of people from WNY who can make regular visits to people and support them as they go through a very difficult period of their lives. Tuesday, August 21st: Driver Licenses for All- Press Event Time/Location: Trinity Church (371 Delaware), 3 to 4 As the State Fair kicks off, we are gathering in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo to say: we need licenses for all immigrants NOW. And, for this Press Event, we need YOU: we need 30 people for this event to work well. Please RSVP! Reply via this email.

Wednesday, August 22nd: Immigration Forum: Education for Activism Time/Location: UURoc, Rochester, 6-9 Regional event to network and learn together- RSVP if interested. FB event here.

Sunday, August 26 2-4pm, “Rocktivism!” #JFMFrocks a campaign to bring awareness about our organization and undocumented issues in WNY. We hope you will join us at 50 Greenwood Place (garage) to wash and paint rocks, and take rocks home to start planting around the city! Visit the Facebook event page for more info
