Day of Prayer today, walk tomorrow at CatRes 4 Standing Rock; MORE

Dear Friends,

It is a time of intense need and activity, as we are all challenged by
threats looming on the horizon, as well as very current and real.

One very real threat is that of eviction and/or arrest for our courageous
brothers and sisters at Standing Rock. Please note that

* Today, Sunday Dec 4, is a special day of interfaith prayer, as
designated by Lakota Spiritual Leader Arvol Looking Horse, who graced our
city at a gathering of over 200 last Monday (see our report and Orin
Langelle's blog in a previous post). This is a spiritual struggle, and it's the
power of the Spirit and the Creator's Laws that will prevail;

* Tomorrow, Monday Dec 5, is a special day of Solidarity Peace Walks all
over the Nations, especially in Indigenous Reservations; thus the Seneca
Nation has organized a Solidarity Peace Walk *10:30am-1pm*. Parking is
available at Gill Lay Arena, 11093 Erie Road (Route 5,) Irving NY 14081.
Ride Shuttle buses to Interstate 90 Thruway Bridge on Route 438 to walk or
assemble at Routes 5 & 20 "Round About" to slow down traffic and collect
donations for Standing Rock Six Nations camp at Canon Ball ND

* Tomorrow, Monday at 1-3pm, Talking Peace with the WNY Peace Center radio
show on 91.3FM WBNY; Jim Anderson, Charley Bowman, Eluid Duncan and Avery
Edwards will co-host, with Vicki Ross live broadcasting from the
Solidarity Peace Walk with Agnes Willliams, Seneca, and others. Go to
wnby.buffalostate.edu or http://tunein.com/radio/WBNY-913-s27549/.

* Tomorrow, Monday at 1-4pm, Holiday open house at Network of Religious
Communities, 1272 Delaware Ave.

* Tomorrow, Monday at 5:30pm, Ellicott District Meeting re Gentrification,
with Council President Darius Pridgen at the Belle Center, 104 Maryland
St.

* Tomorrow, Monday at 7-9pm, we invite you to join us, especially LASC -
the Latin American Solidarity Committee - at El Buen Amigo, 114 Elmwood
Ave. with reports on Standing Rock and on the #Buffalo25. Food, music, all
welcome!

And that's just tomorrow!! There are many other gatherings, efforts and
campaigns. Please see below for more info. And remember, we're all in this
together! It is a spiritual struggle, and the Spirit will get us where we
need to go . . . Si, se puede!
