Joined Together in Grief
The Vigil for Orlando yesterday was a beautiful expression of solidarity and love in the midst of overwhelming grief. Pride of WNY was joined by about one thousand people, with many more from all the community joining in heartfelt condolences and unity of spirit. (The WYNPC board meeting was postponed to allow us all to attend.) The wonderful and the terrible are once again present in the same moment. And, as we sang, “we shall overcome.”
We will continue to work for a culture of peace and true nonviolence. Let’s stop the proliferation of guns and automatic weapons and the proliferation of hate and fear. We are all in this together.
