Community Rosh Hashanah Celebration – Hoyt Lake

October 3 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Community Rosh Hashanah Celebration
When: Thursday, Oct 3 at 5:30 pm
Where: Hoyt Lake

Are you looking for a High Holy Days gathering that does not center zionism but instead centers community, solidarity, and flourishing in the diaspora? Then this gathering is for you! It’s once again Rosh Hashanah time and time for all of us to gather, greet the new year, and cast off into running water our transgressions and those things we want to leave behind.

Please join us at Hoyt Lake on Thursday, 10/3 at 5:30pm for our annual tashlich observance. Bring shofars and other noisemakers, a thought/poem/reading you’d like to share, apples, honey, and anything else sweet. Please also invite anyone who I accidentally left off or you think would like to join.

Looking forward to seeing all of you lovely people soon.

Please note that this is not a JVP connected event. There will be a JVP Ritual Action on Sunday 10/6, and if you were only to go to one and you’re JVP inclined or curious, please, please come to that one. And I love all of you and Tashlich, so I’m excited to be part of two different events that welcome in the new year and celebrate our radical, awesome Buffalo Jewish community.
