Contacting elected officials about upcoming legislation is an important part of social justice advocacy.

It's important for elected officials to know the details of impending legislation -- some of these packages are thousands of pages long -- no one person can be expected to know it all. Hence, a big part of communicating with representatives educates them, as well as us.
